The conduit infrastructure easily allows any later additions to the lighting system to be installed with minimal disruption to the finished landscape. It is typically used not only for lighting, but can accommodate many other electrical needs. Ease of access simplifies troubleshooting and reduces the costs incurred to make changes or additions to the system in future years.

In order to take full advantage of the conduit infrastructure and its electrical potential, switching and control of the lighting system should be addressed at the early stages of construction. This will ensure that the wiring is not omitted nor overdone, but instead customized to suit the preferences of the client. A conduit infrastructure in conjunction with a lighting control system provides for maximum flexibility and capability.
